La banda canadiense Arcade Fire presenta ‘The Lighning I, II’, su nuevo single que llega acompañado del correspondiente videoclip. Es el primer adelanto de su próximo disco “WE”, que llega cinco años después del anterior.
‘The Lightning I, II’ ha sido compuesta por Régine Chassagne & Win Butler y producida por Nigel Godrich, Régine Chassagne & Win Butler, en una canción dividida en dos partes que viene acompañado de un vídeo musical dirigido por Emily Kai Bock (que ya se había encargado del correspondiente a ‘Afterlife’) con imágenes en las que aparecen Win Butler, Regine Chassagne, Tim Kingsbury, Jeremy Gara, Sarah Neufeld, Paul Beaubrun y Dan Boeckner.
«Destila el mayor tiempo que hemos pasado escribiendo, sin interrupción, probablemente nunca», comentó Win Butler de la banda, añadiendo el comunicado: «un épico álbum conciso de 40 minutos que habla tanto sobre las fuerzas que amenazan con alejarnos de las personas que amamos, como de la urgente necesidad de superarlas. WE se describe como una experiencia catártica, un estudio de contrastes y un viaje de la oscuridad a la luz a través de siete canciones divididas en dos lados distintos: el lado “I” que canaliza el miedo y la soledad del aislamiento, y el lado “WE” que expresa la alegría y el poder de la re-conexión».
Arcade Fire es un grupo de indie rock conformado en 2001 por el matrimonio Win Butler y Régine Chassagne, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury y Jeremy Gara, incluyendo actualmente también a Sarah Neufeld, Owen Pallett, Diol Edmond y Tiwill Duprate. Saltaron a la fama en 2004 con su aclamado álbum debut “Funeral”, al que dieron continuidad con “Neon Bible” (2018), “The suburs” (2010) y “Reflektor” (2013). Han ganado numerosos premios importantes (Grammy’s, Juno’s, Brit’s, etc) y sus miembros son considerados multiinstrumentistas, cambiando sus funciones a lo largo de sus actuaciones.
“WE” será el sexto álbum de estudio de Arcade Fire y se publicará el próximo mes de mayo a través de Columbia Records, dando continuidad a “Everything Now” (2017). Cuenta con producción por Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Beck y Paul McCartney, entre otros) y el combo canadiense Win & Régine, siendo grabado en múltiples lugares, incluyendo Nueva Orleans, El Paso y Mount Desert Island.
