La banda estadounidense The Killers presenta ‘The getting by II’, su nuevo single acompañado del correspondiente videoclip. El tema está incluido en la reedición de “Pressure Machine”, su séptimo trabajo discográfico publicado el pasado verano.
“Pressure Machine” fue coproducido por la banda, Shawn Everett y Jonathan Rado (Foxygen), el mismo equipo con el que el grupo trabajó en su anterior álbum y que surgió por las circunstancias de no poder salir de gira por la pandemia por la pandemia global. El disco debutó al #1 de la lista británica (consiguiendo repetir esa clasificación con todos y cada uno de sus primeros 7 álbumes).
La recién publicada edición especial incluye como extras 7 versiones reinventadas para la ocasión de 3 canciones del disco original: ‘The getting by’ (con 4 revisiones), ‘Runaway horses’ (1) y ‘West Hills’ (2), que también fueron producidas junto a Shawn Everett y Jonathan Rado. A su vez estrenaron un documental en directo, ‘Notes from a quiet town’, con tres actuaciones en la ciudad natal de Brandon Flowers (Nephi, Utah) que narra, al igual que el álbum, historias de los habitantes.
Con su mezcla de glamour y synth-pop de los ochenta, el cuarteto The Killers lograron infundir nuevos aires al rock bailable y de estadios liderados por el carismático Brandon Flowers. Alcanzaron inmediatamente el éxito internacional con “Hot Fuss”, su primer álbum de 2004, destacando también con “Sam’s Town” (2006) y “Day & Age” (2008). Tras una pausa dedicada a los varios proyectos solistas de sus integrantes, regresaron en 2012 con “Battle Born”, seguido por “Wonderful Wonderful” (2017) y , “Imploding The Mirage” (2020).
